The title sounds confusing right? Nope, its just what it sounds like, haha! It’s the most amazing dessert I’ve made yet, and it all started off one day when i was trying to be creative for some friends that were coming to the house for game night and dinner. I had never cooked for them and i wanted to impress them. I racked my brain on what to make for dessert and this came to mind. I love making anything with bananas and cool whip, i mean who doesn’t, right? I could literally eat this all day long, but i have to behave, i guess.
Here’s the yummy recipe
1 1/2 cups of nilla wafers
4 tablespoons of melted butter
pinch of salt.
2-8 oz packs of cream cheese (room temp)
3/4 cups of sugar
2 cups of heavy cream
1 teaspoon of Kahlua
5 sliced bananas
box of nilla waffers for topping
to make the crust you have to crush 1 1/2 cups of nilla wafers, i know this sounds weird, but make sure it’s nilla wafers, not vanilla wafers, big difference.
Then mix it with 4 tablespoons of melted butter, and a pinch of salt.
once you have all that mixed together
press it into the bottom of a rectangular baking dish and set it aside for now
now make the filling
Beat (i use my kitchen aid mixer, makes life so much easier)2-8 oz packs of cream cheese (room temp) and 3/4 cups of sugar until nice and fluffy. Then beat in 2 cups of heavy cream and 1 teaspoon of Kahlua until stiff peaks form. Set aside
now make pudding and let it stand for 5 mins or until thickened and fold into the mixture
1-3.4 oz package of instant vanilla pudding
1 3/4 cup of milk
mix together and let sit for 5 mins before folding into the mixture.
Now comes the fun part
pour half the filling onto the graham cracker crust
add a layer of sliced bananas and a layer of nilla wafers
then add remaining half of filling over the top
then another layer of bananas and then another layer of wafers
refrigerate for two hours or over night, but who’s going to wait that long, come on now! Two hours is a long wait as it is!
after its out of the fridge top it with cool whip and sprinkle with some more wafer and serve it up! It’s sooo good, cant wait to hear how yours turn out!
