One of my FAVORITE side dishes, that i think goes with everything, is applesauce, i love homemade, and the jarred kind you can buy in the store, im equal opportunity, im not that way! i decided to try and make my own with some apples we had sitting around the apartment! It wasnt the prettiest, thats for sure, but it did turn out really good and its super easy to make!
4 or 5 apples, depending on size, peeled and sliced
3/4 water
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
its really easy, combine all the ingredients in a pan, cover and cook for about 20 mins, i cooked mine for closer to 25 mins, i wanted them nice and soft. Let is cool and then mash with a fork or a potato masher, i didnt have one, so i had to use the fork, it was sort of annoying, but the results were worth it!
I normally have it with french toast or any brunch items.
enjoy!
